our mission

Mission Statement

Ephemeral: something of transitory existence: Familiar: known from long association.
Ephimiliar: temporal forces that combine and recombine: every connection: poem read: needed story: word that briefly exists.
Ephimiliar hopes to fill the months between summers and the distances between separated writers, co-conspirators, and friends. Our editors are writers and readers who want to honor the writing community that has welcomed them and expand the community through the unfamiliar and emerging. We focus on work by unpublished voices and students of all ages. We publish on a rolling basis at the convenience of everyone’s urgent yet sporadic writing processes. We are open to working with writers to edit a submission that we feel is a near-fit because we know that neither party would benefit from that rejection.
